Hello Portland community,
School’s Out was built to make it easier to plan kids’ time outside of school, from summer camps to no-school days and everything in between.
As parents ourselves, we know how fragmented this space is. Finding activities means juggling dozens of websites, tracking dates in spreadsheets, coordinating with friends, and trying not to miss important registration windows. Planning shouldn’t feel like a second job.
So we built School’s Out to change that.
Why we built School’s Out
There are roughly 200 days each year when kids aren’t in school. Yet the systems parents rely on to plan those days are outdated, scattered, or simply don’t exist.
We believed there was a better way. A modern platform where parents can discover what’s available, stay organized as plans evolve, and coordinate more easily with other families.
School’s Out is designed to reduce friction at every step, whether you’re casually exploring options or actively planning out your child’s schedule weeks or months ahead.
How School’s Out works today
With School’s Out, families can:
- Discover camps and activities in one place
Explore thousands of local programs filtered by date, age, interests, activity type, and location. New programs are added continuously as schedules are published. - Stay organized as plans come together
Track what’s open, what’s coming up, and what you’re considering, without jumping between tabs or spreadsheets. - Coordinate more easily with friends
Share favorites, align schedules, and plan together so summer planning feels collaborative instead of chaotic.
We’re also rolling out new tools to support booking select camps directly through School’s Out, making the transition from planning to action even smoother.
Built in Portland, expanding beyond
Portland is our home base, and it’s where we’ve focused on building deep, high-quality coverage across camps and activities. That foundation is now powering expansion into new communities, with the same goal everywhere we go: make planning kids’ activities simpler, clearer, and less stressful for families.
Looking ahead
We’re still early, but the vision is clear.
We’re building toward a future where families can plan their kids’ time outside of school with confidence, supported by smart tools, thoughtful design, and a platform that understands how real families plan.
